Actually he was born in market rasen Lincolnshire; grew up in Nottingham
 
He moved to Canada where he had 3 children. Died in Canada.
 
Also, he was Catholic. One of his sisters was a nun.

I have now got this answer from my cusin in Iowa about her husbands grandfather.

Some of the info you sent yesterday appears to be my husband’s grandfather. One of the confusing elements is that his grandfather had a son, also named Frank Logan. This appears to be the entry below. The 2nd entry below appears to be Carl’s grandfather.

This is like a detective novel!

So the 2 with the same name must be the one we look for and his son.
About he is the same than the one you found emigrated I can not see.

All what Jane found were right. Thank you for all your work.
Francis Logan had 2 wifes Gertrude and Betsy. He got the son Frank with Betsy before he got 2 daugthers with Gertrude and so later got 2 daugthers with Betsy.
Gertrude vent back to England with the girls.
