I have found a Census entry at DDD for the following:

Name: Christen Christensen Age: 51 Marital status: gift
Position in household: Skovfoged, Huusfader Birth place: her i Sognet
Fam.no: 40 Land register no.: Et Huus Place name: Flensted Mark
Parish: Laasby Source: FT-1860 KIPno: C3474 RecNo: 935

All persons in the household

Skanderborg, Gjern, Laasby, Flensted Mark, Et Huus, 40, FT-1860, C3474
Name:     Age:     Marital status:       Position in household:       Occupation:       Birth place:
Christen Christensen    51    gift    Skovfoged, Huusfader       her i Sognet
Maren Jensen    31    gift    hans Kone       Storring S., Aarhuus A.
Ane Marie Christensen    11    ugift    [deres datter]       her i Sognet
Christine Christensen    9    ugift    [deres datter]       [her i Sognet]
Andersmine Christensen    5    ugift    [deres datter]       [her i Sognet]

I am trying to find this entry in the original census document.

How does one correlate the DDD information to the original document, i.e. find the original entry from which the transcription is generated?

I have tried searching for Family 40 and that is Søren Sørensen and family. Most of the families are "Et Huus".

So, Does one have to search for a family strictly by Name?

In other words, the numbers are within a village or district.  This one was also harder because the headings were not filled out.  In the summary in 1860 you find the skoledistrikt, Flensted.

Thank you---I am trying to work my way through some Censuses that are not indexed as of yet and I wanted to get a feel for how they are put together before spending a lot of time in frustration.

Again, thank you for your input and feedback...I found the family in the 1870 Census based on your feedback.
