Sailor with Merchant Navy

Is there any way of tracing a Sailor with the Merchant Navy who visited Melbourne, Australia in 1953?  I do have a name....not sure if that is appropriate.  Helping someone else.  She also adds that he might have been born in Malmo c1930 or Stockholm which I realize is Sweden.  Many thanks!  Also, often I use google translate for English to Danish which sometimes has disastrous results....can someone translate this into Danish so I may post it in the Danish section?:  "Is there any way of tracing a Sailor with the Merchant Navy who visited Melbourne, Australia in 1953?  I do have a name....not sure if that is appropriate."
