I have an ancestor named Helene Jessen-Raben (or Raben-Jessen, I cannot find my notes) and was wondering if Jessen and Raben were, or are, common names in Denmark.  Helene either lived in the 1600's or 1700's, I just cannot remember.  Anne

I think Jessen is most common in Sønderjylland - det Southern part of Jutland

searching i the censuses for Jessen Raben at www.ddd.dda.dk gives 9 records, but no Helene, 8 from county Haderslev an 1 from Vejle
