Entry 124

Could I get some help with what it says between the parents' names in the fifth column.  I have Jacob Westergaard and Nicoline Friderike Jensen for the parents.

Also what is the information in the sixth column.

Thank you,

Ric

Ole Westermann

I read:

Jacob Westergaard Ar-
beidsmand (worker) Bryggerens Læng-
de No 16/76? Moderen (the mother) Nicoline
Friderike Jensen

6th column (the witnesses):
Forældrene og Gjordemoderen (the parent and the midwife)
   Madam Reichardt

Bryggerens længe was a street in Nyboder. It does not exist anymore.

Ole Westermann

Bryggerens længe has changed name to Olfert Fischers Gade.

Thank you, Ole.

So does that mean that Madam Reichardt was the mother of Nicoline or Jacob?  Are there any assumptions I can make about that?

#4
The mother was Nicoline Friderike Jensen.
Madam Reichardt was the midwife.
And it was not unusual to see the midwife among the the witnesses.
She probably had no familiar relation to them.

Oh, I see.  The witnesses were two people - the parent and the midwife not one person who was both parent and midwife.  Thank you for the clarification.
