In the death record entry found 1759-1781 Tved Hillerslev Thisted image 30 entry 1769 #7.

In Dansih Family Search
http://www.danishfamilysearch.com/sogn1715/churchbook/source137111/opslag14921925
there are two words I need help and/or verification of:

1769 Death

den 15de August
No. 7
Blev begraben Niels Kiærs husfrue Anna Sørensensdatter: Sit (???) alders 36de aar, Søn død: i Barnetsfødse

They are the emboldened words.
1) What is the meaning of the first word Sit (?) as it is used in several entries, and
2) is the second word "Søn" i.e. a baby boy?

Thank you for your assistance..

Follow up Question:

Based on this being the burial entry for the mother Anna Sørensdatter on 15 August 1769 and she died in giving birth to a child:

Am I to assume that the baby was stillborn? or died in the process

I find not birth/baptism entry for a child born to Niels Kiær/Anna Sørensdatter around this time frame. Nor do I find a death/burial entry for a child to these parents for this time frame.

Any insight or guidance would be appreciated... Thank you.

Hi Lynn,

Yes, it seems probable that the baby was stillborn and buried with his mother. Not an unusual practice with an unbaptized baby.
