1795 Military Roll of Peder Olesen in Em, Hjørring   #14    Image 318

Peder Olsen is found in the 1795 Military Levy Rolls of Em, Hjørring.  This seems to be his last Military Record.  He is found in the Em 1801 census with wife Maren and 4 children.  The age(37) does not quite match.  No other Peder Olesen is found.  The 1795 Roll crosses his name out and writes AP97.  Is this the year he is taken off of the Military Rolls? Birthplace?

Thanks again for any help.

Hello Karen.

The person you have found is born 1769 in Hundelev, Jelstrup parish and his fathers name is Ole Lorensen.

The person you are looking for - Peder Olesen, what information do you have about him? Is the 1801 census the family you are looking for? - If so, you cannot conclude it is the same person - unless the fathers last name Lorensen is known in your research.

Per

Per, Thank you so much for your help.

Peder Olesen is listed as the father of my 4th great grandfather, Johan Pedersen in numerous Military Levying Rolls(MLR) in Em, Hjørring.  Johan and his 3 older siblings are all born in Em: Ole 1792, Mikkel 1794, Anders 1796 and Johan in 1798.  The family is then listed on the 1801 census, where Peder was listed as 37 years old.  The 1795 (MLR) has Peder Olesen as age 26 and the 1789 has a Peder Olesen as age 22.  I am not certain Peder Olesen in the Em (MLR) is the same as the one on the census.  Is there a reason Peder would not be on the Em (MLR), if he was having his children in Em.  All of his sons are listed with him as their father.

Do you have a suggestion as to where else I would look to find Peder?

I would really appreciate your comments.

Thanks again,

I have found his marriage to Maren Michelsdatter, page 321:

http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=161372&side=236

d. 20. Sept. 1791 trolovet ungkarl Peder Olufsen af
Emb med Pigen Maren Michelsdatter fra
Emb Heede. Forlovere Niels Pedersen Emb
og Laurs Jensen fra Smidstrup.

Copulerede d. 11. Occtobr.
---------------------------------------------
The first son, Oluf is born 1792, page 341

http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=161372&side=255

Here among the godfathers we see:
Oluf Andersens daughter Dorethe Emb. (Dorethe is born 1762, page 275, left)
--------------------------------------------
The son Michel is born 1794, page 342, left:

http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=161372&side=236
--------------------------------------------

Peder Olufsen born about 1764, page 276, left,  but that year the expected parents:
Oluf Andersen and Zidsel Ovesdatter have a daughter Maren to christening:

The next child of above parents is a girl, Inger, born 1767, page 328, left:

OK, so far I conclude Peder Olesen is not born in Emb between 1764 and 1770. Unfortunately the records for Hundelev, Jelstrup parish start at the year 1814, meaning we cannot confirm that Peder, son of Ole Lorensen is your Peder Olesen.

If you find information telling that Ole Andersen is father to Peder Olesen I have found his death: June 1799, page 372, left:

I'm not so experienced in the Military levy rolls that I can comment that question.

Per,
Thank you for your help with the family.  I had a couple of the children's baptisms, but had not considered the possibility that Peder came from Em.  I would like to study through the links you sent and go over the godparents and witnesses.  The information has been a great help!!!  I may come back with questions later.
Have a great Holiday,
Karen

Karen,

Please look at the Probate Records of Ole Andersen left hand side:
https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?bsid=192565#192565,32289945
There were five children Anders, Sidsel Marie, Maren, Inger and Dorthe. I don't see any Peder

June 19 1800 in the Probate Record Registration you will see the names more clearly:
