Hello.  I am interested in the translation of the birth record for Kristiane Rasmusdatter on 12 Nov 1702 in Frørup.

Frørup Parish records 1671-1724
Page 98/187
Record #18
12 Nov 1702

Rasmus Madtzøn datter Kristiane.

Maren Rasmus Madtzøn wife is introduced 17 Dec 1702?  Why is his (Rasmus Madtzøn) name different?  Ryklnos?

I am also interested in the Public Absolving translation for Rasmus Madtzøn on 10 Jun 1703.

Rasmus Madtzøn Rytter (rider – he is part of the defense in a rider district).
The daughter's name is Kirsten.
Her godmother is Giertrud Jes Rasmussøns (i.e. Giertrud, Jes Rasmussøn's wife).

I am also interested in the Public Absolving translation for Rasmus Madtzøn on 10 Jun 1703.
This has nothing to do with Rasmus Madtzøn himself. Kirsten Niels Lauritzøns stays/works in his house.
She has committed adultery.

I have been trying to find Rasmus Madtzøn's marriage, and it might be:
https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?bsid=182037#182037,30904897
Anno 1700
d. 2. April haffde Rasmus Matsen
i Taarup Bryllup med Brygger
pigen Maren N. paa Holchenhavn

Taarup is in Frørup parish, and they were married in Vindinge parish because Maren worked in the brewery at the estate called Holckenhavn.

Inge, thank you so much for that information!

If that is my Rasmus Madtzøn do I read correctly that Maren is Nielsdatter?

Also, is it common to have had children before the marriage?  In Frørup, by April 1700, Rasmus and Maren have had Anna Margarete (20 Jun 1697), Christian (29 Oct 1699-must die before 23 Jan 1701 when another Christian is born).  My understanding was that if the child is illegitimate then the mother's name is listed in the christening as presenting the child with rarely any mention of the father.

Another possibility could be that the Anna Margarete and Christian born to Rasmus Madsen Rytter, wife Maren, are another couple?  That would make the Rasmus and Maren marriage that you found tie in with a birth 9 months later of Christian Rasmussen 23 Jan 1701.

My birth records are as follows:
Rasmus Madtzøn Rytter is father
20 Jun 1697 Anna Margarete Rasmusdatter
29 Oct 1699 Christian Rasmussen
12 Nov 1702 Kirsten Rasmusdatter
1 Mar 1705 Anders Rasmussen

Rasmus Madtzøn is father
23 Jan 1701 Christian Rasmussen
2 Sep 1703 Gyyde Rasmusdatter
19 Sep 1706 Karen Rasmusdatter
6 Oct 1709 Kirsten Rasmusdatter (have not searched past this record yet to see if there are more children)

Given the above, is it likely that there *are* two different couples?

I may have a number of the names wrong for witnesses but based on what I have found so far I think there are two Rasmus Madtzøn in Frørup who have a wife named Maren.

My birth records are as follows:
Rasmus Madtzøn Rytter is father
20 Jun 1697 Anna Margarete Rasmusdatter in Frørup pg 84/187 #13
Witnesses: Christian Mazensen?, Peder Gosurnsen?, Hans Niemand, Margareta Hans Normonsdatter, Ellen Corfitz Lauritzen's wife, Giertruid? Jens Hansen's wife.

Death:
5 Dec 1697 in Frørup pg 172/187 the death of someone aged 30 years is somehow related to Rasmus Madtzøn Rytter.  Is someone able to translate this entry?  I do not think it is the death of Rasmus Madtzøn Rytter because he is named as the father of children born in 1699, 1702 and 1705.

Rasmus Madtzøn is father
23 Jan 1701 Christian Rasmussen in Frørup pg 94/187 #1
Witnesses: Niels Rasmussen, Rasmus Knudsen, Hans Christiansen? Corfitzsen?, Johanna Hans Langs wife, Anna Maria Mads Hansen's wife and Maria Johansdatter.

6 Oct 1709 Kirsten Rasmusdatter in Frørup pg 118/187 #26 [my 5 times great-grandmother]
Note: Her witnesses are similar to the Rytter Rasmussen children.  If she is a Rytter child then the marriage in Taarup of Rasmus and Maren is not likely her parents.
Witnesses: Jacob Niemand, Anders Velmand, Jørgen Christensøn, all here in Frørup Karen Rasmus Gudsøn's in Frørup, Birgitte Niels Hansøn's in Taarup Anne Johan Brandt's in Frørup carried the child at the christening * wife Maren introd. Dom.24 post Trinit

23 Feb 1710 (too soon to be from this mother but if Kirsten born in 1709 is a Rytter child then he is probably this couple's child) Jørgen Rasmussen in Frørup pg 118/187 #3
Witnesses: Mads Jørgensen, Hans Hansen, Jens Niemand, Mette Nieman? Langs wife, Johanna? Hans Niemand's wife, Dorothea? Christian Andersen's wife.

6 Apr 1710 in Frørup pg 119/187 the wife of Rasmus Madtzøn is introduced but the name has been changed.  It looks like Niems?

Is anyone able to make some sense of all this?
