My ancestor had an illegitimate child in Nordby on Fanø (Ribe amt) in 1822.  The parents never married.  The father is listed in the birth record as "Ungkarl Hans Peter i Thisæt i Gram sogn," Haderslev amt.  The boy went to sea in 1838, and I don't know what became of him after that.  He did not marry or die in Nordby.

birth 16 April 1822 https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?epid=17125384#167013,28043593
confirmation 5 March 1837 https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?epid=17125384#167014,28043967

I would like to learn more about the father, but there are some problems.

1.  the birth record does not give the father's last name, occupation, age or birth place
2.  only the Kontraministerialbog for Nordby exists now, so I can't check the other copy for information about the father
3.  the boy's confirmation record in Nordby in 1837 does not mention the father at all
4.  the mother is not on the Nordby til/afgangslister going to Gram sogn (or anywhere else)
5.  the father is not on the Nordby til/afgangslister coming to Nordby
6.  the father is not on the Gram til/afgangslister going to Nordby
7.  the father is not on the lægdsruller coming into Nordby and the søruller are not online
8.  the lægdsruller for Gram sogn do not exist for the years 1821/1822
9.  there are no trolovelser for Nordby sogn for the 1820s

I looked in Gram sogn for a boy named Hans Peter born about 1790 to 1805 who could be the father.  There is one interesting possibility.  Hans Peter Geil was born in Gram sogn in 1795 (almost same age as the mother), confirmed there in 1810, and left Gram in 1822 to go to Øster Lindet sogn.  He married in Øster Lindet in October 1822 (6 months after illegitimate boy was born).  His wife died in Øster Lindet in 1867 and he died in Øster Lindet in 1868.  Another possibility is Hans Peter Römed, born in Gram sogn in 1792 and confirmed there in 1810, but then I don't know what happened to him.

Can anyone suggest what I should try next?

Thanks,

Hi.

The boy Hans Søren Hansen is in Nordby in 1840. The lægd number is mentioned. Maybe this can help you.

Thanks Bodil.  I have looked for him on the lægdsruller, but he is not there, probably because most males on Fanø were sailors.  The søruller are not online.  Even if I could find him there, his mother would be named, not his father.

It's the father I would like to find on the lægdsruller.  If the father was from Gram sogn, he may have been a soldier instead of a sailor.  But I can not find Gram lægdsruller for 1821-1822 online, and he is not on the lægdsruller of Nordby.

Hi again

Lægdsrulle for Gram Sogn 1821 starts here:

https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/billedviser?bsid=17907#17907,939423

And for 1822 it ought to be here, but as far as I can see it is not:

Gram is in 1. jyske udskrivningsdistrikt i Ribe Amt, lægd nr. 4.

Do you know the web-site on lægdsruller made by DIS-Fyn, which in my opinion is often easier to work with than Sall-data or Arkivalier online.
Unfortunately it is only in Danish.

Just a thought: He entered lægdsrullen at birth. If he was moved to sørullen later, it ought to be noted somewhere. But I have very little experience with lægdsruller.

Thank you Bodil for the links to Gram lægdsruller!  I was very excited to see this so I looked for a son named Hans Peter (with any father, since I don't know his last name), and I found none in the years 1798, 1802, 1806, 1809, 1812, 1818, and 1821.  Disappointing, but maybe this means he was on the søruller.  I hope those will be put online some day.

Also thanks for the link to the Lægdsruller website.  I have used it a little bit in the past and found it has some nice features.

Thanks for your help.  I guess I will work on other problems and come back to Hans Peter later.
