I just managed to find children onto them and it seems that she was pregnant when they married. So the royal permission is probably related to that

During the 18th century it became "high society" to be married without bethrothal - to show you could afford to pay the fee, and was not like the "poor" and the peasants.

That might just as well be the reason.
