Could someone please help me with the following?

Q1: Is Magdalena CLAUSEN's name at the time of her christening Magdalena or Magdalene?

Q2: When and where did Magdalena CLAUSEN die? Is there info on her burial?

Q3: Is it possible to determine if child no. 3. Claus Christian ANDERSEN is the same person or a different person from child no. 4. Christian ANDERSEN? My great grandfather's brother Christian lived in New Zealand for a time, then returned to Denmark. I'm trying to work out if he is the same person as Claus Christian ANDERSEN.

Q4: Is there somewhere I can look up the records myself?

Thank you.

chr. 14/19  Nov 1866, Broacker (Broager), Sonderburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Preußen (German Confederation)

look here: the third person:
https://www.danishfamilysearch.dk/sogn1685/churchbook/source3165/opslag1640770

chr. 19, not 14 Nov 1866

Q1: Is Magdalena CLAUSEN's name at the time of her christening Magdalena or Magdalene?

Thank you, Jørgen, for this information and for the link to the digitised original - and for your super-fast response!

I understand there are 2 records for my great grandfather's baptism - one in Danish and one in German - and that they have different dates. (I haven't previously seen the records.) It seems likely that the difference is due to a transcription error. Would there be any way of knowing which record would be the original.

I have sent som more since your question

Sonderburg (Sønderborg) was 1864-1920 belonging to Germany,
Now Denmark.

As I don't know from where you hav your informations it is difficult to answer.
But try to study

https://www.danishfamilysearch.dk
and click on the map, and it will lead you to the different parishes.

(I am not so good to explain)

as to:

3. Claus Christian ANDERSEN
b. 28 Dec 1858, Broager, Aabenraa-Sønderborg, Danmark
https://www.danishfamilysearch.dk/sogn1685/churchbook/source3165/opslag1640577
he is number 7.

4. Christian ANDERSEN
b. ca. 1860, Danmark
This person may not exist - may be same person as Claus Christian ANDERSEN, b. 28 Dec 1858

From where do you hav the information about this "4. Christian ANDERSEN
b. ca. 1860, Danmark " ?

The link to the book above, may lead to 1860 and he should be there if it is no mistake, since the next child also is born in Broager (1863)

I could search before you answer, but it is a lot of pages to put behind you.

Thanks, Jørgen, I have seen the new information you posted. It is very exciting to see the original documents for the first time.

The information about the 2 christening/baptism dates was sent to me without original sources, which doesn't help very much.

You've given me some good information to start with. I shall persist in trying to sort out the rest of the information. (I've worked out how to find my way around the Norwegian Archives, so hopefully can do the same with the Danish records!)

I have info sent to me by a distant family member, but it didn't come with source information.

I can look for the record, if it exists. Am I correct in thinking you need to read every page? (Is there a quicker way?)

I wrote:

that was according to what you wrote:

5. Anna Catherine ANDERSEN
b. 09 Mar 1863, Broager, Aabenraa-Sønderborg, Danmark

But I can't find her where she should be
round about here:
https://www.danishfamilysearch.dk/sogn1685/churchbook/source3165/opslag1640695

From where do you have, that  THIS  information should be right?

When it only says "ca. 1860" one must look on 1859-1862 (ca.)

But as I didn't find Anna Cathrine in 1863, I don't know if they have moved.

But now, when you have the link to the churchbooks in the diff. parishes, you will be able to search, (I think, acc. to what you wrote about Norway)

Thanks, Jørgen. I don't don't have any source info for 5. Anna Catherine ANDERSEN.

Apparently, according to the New Zealand Cyclopedia, Christian ANDERSEN (the father) was mayor of Schelde for 18 years, so (assuming this is correct), that might be a clue.
