My attempt at a transcription is as follows:

No: 1st entry under Maÿus
d 2 Maÿ døbte Pronstre (sp?) i Gierding kirke Corpural Morten Gierding en
Drenge barn af Gierding und nave Laurs, srene (?) bar Int ??
?? ?? Himelstrup, grih (?) und
Hr(?) Otte Himelstrup Mørchis ??
Christine Augusta Huas, mand fadder
Christen Laursen, Peder Jensen
og Peder Hansen, alle af Gierding

I would appreciate a full transcription.

My question is "Does it detail the name of the father's military regiment?"

I appreciate any help I can receive....Thank you

Bare with me as I give this a go  ;)

May 2nd the Provost in Gerding church baptised Corporal Morten Gierding's, of Gerding, boy child with the name of Laurs.
?? carried him, the Provost's  ?? Lovise Himelstrup walked next to them ((it was usually the godmother who carried the child, sometimes the mum and then another woman would walk beside them and carry the little bonnet the child wore)).
Mr Otte Himelstrup, Mørchis ?? , Christine Augusta Hvas. Male godparents ((witnesses)) Christen Laursen, Peder Jensen and Peder Hansen, all of Gierding.

No mention of his regiment.

Thank you for the english translation.

Your response was why I asked the question in the first place. You can see how far off I was in thinking that it identified the fathers military regiment.
