Dear people

Where can I find mönstringsböger ?

I am looking after some Rasmussen who was a member of the crew on the dampskip "Acturus" in 1860.

Acturus was sailing between Denmark and Iceland from 1858 up to 1866 when it became a a part of Det forende dampskipselskap (DFDS), it was in the service of DFDS until 1887, when it crashed into another ship and sank.

Hi Tomas, I think you misspelled the name of the ship. Is this the right ship?

I believe the word in Danish is "mønstringsrulle"  (plural: ruller)

You should email Jørgen Marcussen who runs the excellent website. He might very well be able to answer your questions. His knowledge of all things maritime is extensive.

Mange tak Shari

I got these information through facebook chat, so it isn't unlikely that it was misspelled in the first place  ;D

But yes that is the ship, and I will e-mail Jörgen

mange tak igen
