This is the only son Niels that I can find..and his census records generally say he was born in 1770..and this record is in late 1767.  There are fewer than normal baptisms during this era...about one page equals one year.  Penmanship is pretty good, so if anybody wants to look over three or four pages for another Niels, feel free!!!  Thanks, Claude

:)I'm looking for the parents of NIELS CHRISTENSEN who apparently lived his entire life in Dolby Parish because I find in the 1787, 1801, 1834, and 1840 census records.  He married Karen Jensdatter.  Both he and Karen give  their birth years as 1770 or 1771... I think we have located Karen Jensdatter and her birth was  1771 in Dolby.  Claude :o

Oh, My Goodness!!  You did it again!  Thank you, thank you, thank you.  Among my many faults is a failure to recognize that there tends to be much freedom in Denmark when it comes to naming your child (and also the name that follows until death).  My mind is so imprinted with the idea that the name recorded for you when you are born sticks with you in the U.S. until your death that it is  apparently difficult to wrap my mind around other customs of naming.  Of course, I know it IS possible to change your name here; however, it is a big difficult court ordered process...and we get Social Security numbers assigned when we are born...and that number never changes and is different from every other individual in  the country....and very, very few other individuals know your number.  Enough of my babbling. :D  I always appreciate you efforts to keep my on track in the searches!  Claude+
