d 24 Sept. Hemming Lars(en) of Pollerup was buried with ceremony, gi-
ven for the bells to ring to the churchwarden Lars Rasmusen 3 marks.

So you see his surname has been shortened somewhat.

Thank you, Ole.  Yes that is very interesting with the last name.

What was the role of paying for the church bells?  Is that just part of the ceremony?  Did one pay extra for that or does it have any other significance?  Is there a reason it becomes part of the burial record?

Looking around on the pages you see at least half of the buried were poor (fattige) people and were buried without ceremony and payed nothing. Other people payed to the church 1½-3 marks for bell ringing and ceremony.
According to the Law the vicar was allowed to take a salary to the church for this, but not from poor people.
Mentioning the amount of the salary probably serves as a part of the church accounts.
