#6 bottom right-hand side is the burial record of Christen Hansen's son, Svend.

I am having a little trouble with the age.  It looks like 1 1/2 aar gl. but that creates some confusion.  In the middle of that same page (#1 under 1775) is the burial of another son of Christen Hansen's named Svend who is 1/2 year old.

If the second Svend is 1 1/2 years old in Jan of 1776 and the first Svend is 1/2 year old in Jan of 1775, they would have been born at the same time - middle of 1774.

I have a christening record for Svend in 1774 but obviously only one.

So does the age say something different?  Or is there another explanation?

Thanks,

I'm no good at reading these old texsts and i have difficulties distinguishing e and r , but it seems to me that there is a small horisontal line over the first letter suggesting that it could be u.
So does it say 11/2 aar or 11/2 uge (week)?

The (first) son Svend was buried 19.jan 1775, ½ yo , i.e. born ca. July 1774
I found him at https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?bsid=152539#152539,25397440
No 15 bapt. Dom.9 p.Tr. (July 31, 1774) SVEND

1776  No 6 d 29de Jun. H.M. Christen Hansøns Søn Svend af Poller. 1¼ Aar gl
----------- translation
No 6 the 29th of June smallholder Christen Hansen's son Svend 1¼ yo - i.e. born ca. March 1775
Has his baptism been forgotten in the records? I think so.

Thanks, Bodil.  That was a good thought.  I looked through the rest of the page and it seems that the "u" is much more definitive when it is written.

Thanks, Ole.  When I first read the date, I read it as June also and I agree that made more sense because the second Svend would have been born after the death of the first Svend.  The struggle I am having is that based on the burials before and after this one, it should probably be January instead of June since it appears to be in chronological order.  And if it is January then any age at death over one year would make him born before the first Svend died.

So do you think it still says June or are there any other possible explanations?

Thanks,

I have to change my first view on the burial of Svend in 1776.
The date must be 29th of JANUARY as the next is in Febr.
And then he should have been born ca Oct.1774 (age 1¼) or Jul.1774 (age 1½).
The first is out of question.
In a mysterious way the last possibility fits with the 'first' Svend.

And only one Svend is seen baptized. There must have been some kind of mistake.

Thank you, Ole.  It does seem that there must have been some mistake.  I will give this child two burial dates.  :-)
