Does anyone have any suggestions where I might find a death record for Peter Petersen who was born 9 Nov 1826 in Sweden and lived in Bedsted parish, Aabenraa, Denmark.  As a 57 year old widower, he married my great aunt, a 41 year old widow Carolyn Andrea Hansen Johnsen with three children Amalie Helene Kjestine Johnsen, and Bodel Marie Christine Johnsen, and John Nissen Johnsen on 9 Nov 1883.
That is the last trace I can find of him.  In 1900 I find my great aunt and her three children living in the city of Ribe area.  Records reveal the widow Carolyn Andrea Petersen, a widow, and her daughters moved there from Dostrup in 1898.  (Dostrup is the area where she grew up and all three of her kids were born).  So Peter Petersen died sometime between 1883 and 1898.  If anybody has a suggestion where I should look, let me know.  Thanks, Claude

He is here in census 1890 in Ribe. I guess he was born in Alberta which is a small village in the south of Sweden. Have a good friend living there.

Between 1890-1898 he must have died.

His name is not Peter Petersen, but Pehr Pehrson acc. to the marriage record:

Not unusual that Swedish names were made Danish sounding. I searched the church books 1890-1898 in Ribe's two parishes bearing in mind the change of name but I couldn't find his death there.

I think you are wrong about his dob.  Pehr was born on 20th Feb. 1826 (baptized the next day). His father was åbo (sort of farmer) Pehr Andersson and Kjerstena Nilsdotter in Alberta in Esarp parish.

His first marriage. You find his DOB 20 Feb. 1826 at the bottom of the left-hand page.

:DGosh!  What a pleasant surprise when I checked Danish Forum this afternoon.  Particularly, because I thought perhaps I'd given such
vague information that I may not get anybody to respond.  I would like a little help with the document of his first marriage.  I'd like to know the name of his bride (I read it as Anna Kjestine Olesen, the daughter of Ole Christensen and Anna Catherine Jensdatter.)  Is that correct?
I'm confused about where I could have gotten his birthdate as 9 November and his place of birth as Esherup!  I am most happy to have the right dates and places.  I did have in my records the correct names of his mother and father.  Thanks so much to all of you for your very helpful information.  Claude

The first bride was named Anna Kjerstine Olesen. Her parents were Ole Christensen and Ane Cathrine Jensdatter in Holster.

Pehr P. was born in Esarp in the village of Alberta.

Thanks Eva and Christian:  I see where I picked up the name of Esherup, Sweden....it must be where Pehrs father was born or lived.
My ignorance is shrinking by fractions!!!  However, what I don't know seems to be growing by leaps and bounds too!  Claude

At his 2nd marriage 1883 in Bedsted, the parish in Sweden is written Eherup, which must be an error:
