Can anyone find more information about this person, like death date. I can't find anything after 1880 (abt. 14 years old). Here's what I know:

Birth, line 4 (30 April 1866 in Nyker, Bornholm): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G944-N1MP?i=61&cc=2078555
Confirmation, line 2 (1880 in Nyker, Bornholm): https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?epid=17117473#154103,25696556
1880 Census (last line, Hans Fred. Vang in household of Mikael Hansen Kofod): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSLC-S9XW-G?i=424&cc=2778657

Thanks, Tom

Since I don´t speak Danish I don´t know what this is, but the date is 1894.  Perhaps a kind Dane could tell you what it is.   https://navneregistre.dis-danmark.dk/laegdsruller/lgd_vis_navne.php?navn=Vang&type=e&bogst=7

Paul, I don't know what it is either. Can someone tell me what this is?

Gitte, great find! What is it? Justice system? Was he in prison/jail? Can you translate?

Thanks,

Tom

He is written in a roll "lægdsrulle" (soldier) but does not meet up to session in 1889.

That is the same Paul found.

It's a military levying roll.

25/3 86: Søf[arts]bog: (sailor's) discharge book

§ 14: deferment, postponement

§ 13: failure to appear for the draft board

For how long was he a soldier or was it not at all? Does this prove he was alive in 1894?

Tom

Hed didn't do any military service.

The record suggests he was alive in 1891, but later no contact with the military authorities.

Inger, thanks! Is there a way to tell where he lived in 1891 from this record?

In 1891, he (or someone on his behalf) applied for postponement of his militay service.

His place of residence was Nyker (Lægd Nr. 3), but as he was a sailor, he could have been at sea.

Correction to the above:

After having examined the conscription rules https://mhenriksen.dis-danmark.dk/Mil/Vaernepligtslov_1869.pdf - § 14

I think we only know for sure that Hans Elias Frederik Vang was alive in March 1886, when his discharge book was issued.

When a conscript under 25 years of age who had a discharge book did not appear for the draft board, it was considered
to be equal to him having applied for postponement of his military service.

This was probably what happened in 1889, 1890, and 1891. After he had turned 25, § 13 was applied in 1892, 1893, and
1894, as he did not appear for the draft board.
