I have some questions regarding the types of Registers I am finding.

1) Enesteministerialbog

2) Hovedministerialbog

3) Kontraministerialbog

What are the significant differences of one to the other?

Is there any priority or is one more accurate/valid than the other?

Trying to understand their role(s) and significance of one to the others.

Thank you....

Enesteministerialbog is the book
existing before ca. 1814, when there
was only one book.

After ca. 1814
Hovedministerialbog is the
book, in which the vicar wrote. It
is the one, which is juridicially valid.

Kontraministerialbog is the
book in which the parish clerk wrote. It
ought to be a copy of the Hovedministerialbog.
But formulations etc. can be
a bit different.

Sometimes the information in the Kontraministerialbog is more detailed than in the Hovedministerialbog, sometimes it's the other way around.
So look up the record in both books, if available.

In some parishes, you have more than one book also before ca. 1814.
