In looking at the translations in my recent post about Jens Olsen I am second-guessing the parents that I have for Peder Jensen.

This is what I know about Peder Jensen (my 4th great-grandfather):

He died 3 Nov 1860 age 77 in Gryderup, Boeslunde, Slagelse, Sorø, Denmark here bottom entry: https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/en/billedviser?bsid=148462#148462,24534191

On the 1834-1860 Census he is living at Gryderup, Boeslunde, Slagelse, Soro, Denmark.  He states on the Census records that he was born in Hemmeshøj, Slagelse, Sorø, Denmark.

Year:   FT-1834   Source reference:   49
Cadastre/Address:   en Gaard
Household No:   23
Name:   Peder Jensen      Gender:   M
Age:   50      Civil status:   Gift
Occupation:   Gaardmand
Parish:   Boeslunde   District:   Slagelse
Shire:   Sorø   Place name:   Gryderup Bye
Source entry No:   C7200   Record No.:   901

Peder Jensen             50     Gift          Gaardmand
Birthe Rasmusdatter     43     Gift          hans Kone
Hemming Pedersen     16     Ugift          deres Barn
Birthe Pedersdatter     12     Ugift          deres Barn
Maria Pedersdatter     9     Ugift          deres Barn
Johanne Pedersdatter 6     Ugift          deres Barn

He married Birthe Ramusdatter 11 Nov 1814 here 3rd entry on the left #1115: https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/en/billedviser?bsid=203270#203270,38552116

They had 5 children.  4 are noted in the 1834 Census and daughter Ane Pedersdatter, born 25 Nov 1820 in Boeslunde.

What I am realising is that I think I chose the wrong Jens Olsen as his father.  In the other post, Ole points out that there were 4 Jens Olsen's living in Hemmeshoj.  At first, I thought Peder Jensen's parents were Jens Olsen who married thirdly to Karen Olsdatter (see other post about Jens Olsen).

But the more I look at the Boeslunde marriage entry for Peder Jensen I am starting to think that Peder Jensen's parents were not Jens Olsen and his 3rd marriage to Karen Olsdatter but it looks like Jens Olsen (son of Ole Diderichson) and Anne Pedersdatter (daughter of Peder Nielsen) which means Ole had the right 1797 Census record as follows:

Must be him here in 1787
Sorø, Slagelse, Hemmeshøj, Erdrup Bye, Hemmeshøj, 46, FT-1787, C5283
Jens Olsen             26     Gift     Hosbond     Gaardbeboer
Ane Peersdatter     32     Gift     Madmoder
Peer Jensen            3     Ugift     [deres Børn]
Kisten Jensdatter    1     Ugift     [deres Børn]
Nels Rasmusen      27     Ugift     [Tienestefolk]     Landsoldat
Birte Hansdatter    23     Ugift     [Tienestefolk]

I find the family again in the 1801 Census:
Jens Olsen             40     Gift     huusbonde     bonde og gaardbeboer
Ane Pedersdatter     44     Gift     hans kone
Peder Jensen             17     Ugift     deres børn
Kirsten Jensdatter     15     -     deres børn
Johanne Jensdatter    9     -     deres børn
Ane Jensdatter      7     -     deres børn
Jens Pedersen             19     Ugift     tjenestekarl

Does it make sense that Peder Jensen's parents are Jens Olsen and Ane Pedersdatter?

Hey Rebecca

I think you are right. the father to peder jensen is Ole Didrichsen and Ane pedersdatter.
But it is not the marriage it is also the baptism of Peder 25 april 1784. And there are not others born it that year in this churchbook. o

On "opslag 14" under no. 192 you'll find Birthe Rasmusdatters baptism 20 november 1791, the last on the left page.
also it is written, that she married Peder Jensen Ols son. nr. 1115

Thank you so much Grethe.  That is what I was also thinking.  Everything matches to my Peder Jensen being the son of Jens Olsen and Ane Pedersdatter.

Ole, thank you, thank you, thank you!  I have such a hard time with the levying rolls for some reason.  I just have not been able to get the hang of researching the pages without spending hours and hours.

Ole, I wonder why he is unmarried in 1816 when I know he married Birthe Rasmusdatter 11 Nov 1814 in Boeslunde?

The correct year of the roll is 1815, so probably the superintendent hadn't got the info about his marriage.
I followed him in the rolls until

It's the same book that you've found under church records: Kontraministerialbog 1731 - 1829.

For some reason, you cannot access the alphabetical index via Daisy.
