This is what I read.

Died February 16, 1832 of acute fever.

Buried February 19, 1832 at the poor peoples church yard.

Anne Cathrine Kempff.

Unmarried woman in Prindsensgade no. 284

Her Son was buried in the same coffin.


Fødselsstiftelsen was a place a woman could go and anonymously give birth to a child. The institution was established because many women and children died during birth in unhygienic environments or as a result of illegal abortions.

The son Carl Emilius Kempff died 3 days old.
