Hello,

I *think* I have found the levying roll entry for Soren Hansen Due, son of Hans Hansen Due, born 4 May 1807 in Østbirk, Voer, Skanderborg, Denmark.

1810 Levying roll here age is 2 : https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?epid=16481031#18036,974990

Soren (Hansen) Due is the only living son in early 1810 until his brother, Hans Hansen Due, is born 29 Apr 1810 in Østbirk, Voer, Skanderborg, Denmark.

Am I looking at the right person on the levying roll?  I would expect to have seen Hans Hansen "Due" as the father since the moniker carried with him his whole life.

I am still learning how to look up records on the levying rolls and found it odd that I had to look in Aarhus instead of Skanderborg so I want to be sure I am doing it right.

This must be Hans https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?epid=16481031#18036,974995
G287 - 246 Hans born in Hedehald April 29, 1810

So your link with E231* - 193  Søren at 2 must be the right one.

which confirms it.

I did not find the local place name Hedehald in Krabsen.
You can't always expect to see a surname/nickname in the rolls.

Ole

Thank you Ole!  I could not find Hedehald either but at least I know I am on the right track with these levying roll searches.

Zoom in at this map https://hkpn.gst.dk/mapviewer.aspx?type=o1k_oekort&id=6647&elav=1071560
and you can see Heedehald out East of Østbirk near the edge of the map.
