Homer, I know you want an expert to read the birth record, but I am so excited by what you found that I will, for now, write what I see.

Flemming, I am sure you can read it better than me, or perhaps another kind soul will help.

No. 107
Year & Date: 22 April 1889
Child's Full Name: Carl Hansen
Baptized in Church or in Home: 09 February 1890
Sponsors: Mat. Anna Poulsen og ? Holmgren
Parents:
separeret Marie Hansen born Andersen, ??52
?? Jens Carl Hansen, ??

So...

It is proven that Flemming's mormor had a half-brother Carl.

A family tree online for Claude Amy and Minnie L. Hall (their daughter Ivah married Carl Hansen):
http://tmsociety.org/thomas/clement/aqwg227.htm

This family tree says:
Ivah V AMY was born on 10 May 1890 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio. Ivah married Charles HANSEN. Charles was born about 1889 in United States.

From the marriage record Homer found, we know "Charles" (Carl) was born in Denmark, not USA.

In 1940 there is a Carl Hansen in Cleveland, born about 1890 in USA, single, lodger in a hotel. It could be him.

The one thing I am unsure of:
Arninge church bulletin 1863-1891 31st
born 27 January 1884. Born Carl Edward Rasmus Hansen, Father mill owner  Jens Carl Hansen and his wife Karen Marie Petersen, 31 years.

But Jens Carl Hansen gotta be the engineer and the name Rasmus has not previously seen by Carl Edward.
How to make sure it is the right family?
Flemming

Dear freinds

Do not look for Rasmus Hansen more!
A good friend makes me aware that he is dead.

Many thanks also to Hans Jorgen Mygind, Denmark for the interest.
Along with all of you in the U.S. who have contributed, I have come a long way forward in a short time!
I am deeply grateful
Flemming.

Flemming, Yes, now we can see Jens Carl Hansen and Marie Andersen have BOTH come to Copenhagen!

You may still want to find a death record for Rasmus Hansen; it may be at Garnisons or Skt Paul.

1880 Rasmus Hansen living at Store Kongensgade, København
Homer found the sogn for Store Kongensgade: Garnisons and Skt Paul.

Thank you for sharing your good news!

I know this post was a few years ago, but I just discovered it.  My grandfather was Anhart Hansen.  He married Ina (Hjelman) and had fourteen children here in Minnesota.  As detailed below, all the life I knew about he lived in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.  He died before I was born, so I never had a chance to know him.  However, I'll ask my mom about Rasmus.  How fun to meet a "long lost" relative!
