I found this picture of the baptismal font in Skt Knud, Odense.  My father was baptized in Skt Knud and I am wondering if this was the baptismal font at that time.

Yes, it was made for Skt. Knud in 1620 by Berent Bodeman in Lübeck.

Hi Erik,

The way I searched the site was to clik on edit, click on find, and then type in the name of the church.  I was amazed at how beautiful the baptismal fonts were.  Truly works of art.

Paul

Hi Paul,

Here's another picture of the font:

I think, it didn't turn up in your search, because the spelling of font isn't correct.

I'm very grateful for your finding of wikimedia, I have already found some very valuable pictures related to my family :-)

Kind regards

Hej Birgit,

Thank you so much for the other site.  Now to look for the Barløse and Fåborg "funts".

Dear Paul,  off the topic, but I read one of your posts where you told someone or advised someone to email the public library for an obituary of a loved one.  Could you tell me how to do that and what to say?  I have several relatives who lived on Long Island, New York.  The SSDI indicates that their last address was Westbury, Nassau, New York 11590.

Best Wishes,

Jan Wesselhoff McLaughlin

Hi Jan,

I googled the library and then e-mailed them.  Unfortunately in this case there was no obituary, but they did look.  I think it helped when I told them I was looking for a Dane.

Depending on the time frame, I have found several newspaper articles on my relatives at this website http://www.fultonhistory.com/

Sincerely,
Paul

Thank you, Paul.  Your work is much appreciated.  Can I have the email address you used?

Jan

Hi Jan,

The library I contacted was in Florida and not New York.  I did not find an e-mail address for the Westbury Library but here is its address and phone number.

Westbury Memorial Public Library | 445 Jefferson Street, Westbury, New York, 11590 | p: 516.333.0176

Sincerely,
Paul

Mange tak Steffen.  I still have not heard any information on the obituary but will try another way.
