I have a birth record from 1824 that reads "Huse i Hult" (Huult) for the parents
& child "barn i Hult."

Is or was "Hult" a place name and not a village or town?
Best wishes, Rog Nelson

Hello Roger

In his topographic work 'Danmark' (fifth edition, 1924) the Danish J.P. Trap lists a number of houses and farms within Jerslev parish. Among them is Hult / Huult / Huelt / Hoult, apparently first known around 1662.

That 'Huse i Huult' translates into 'houses in Huult' suggests there might have been a number of small houses on the farm ground.
