I have been trying to find an ancestor who was born in France. I cannot read French and have been unable to find out how to ask for help.  Any suggestions???

Hi Arlene,

My father was born in France (he said Paris) in April 1903 but I could not find the record.  So I looked for his Danish baptism record and found that he was baptized in Skt. Knud, Odense in December 1904.  The priest noted that he was born in Villemomble.  From there it was easy going.

Sincerely,
Paul

Hi Arlene,

Another idea.  Try the confirmation record.  My father's confirmation record also gives Villemomble as his place of birth.

Thanks everyone.   I have found that researching in France is so much more difficult than doing so in Denmark.  It certainly would help if I could read French..
