I'm looking for my Danish cousins and would greatly appreciate any help in finding them.  My dad, Aage Theodor Christensen, was born on 4 March, 1921 and died in the US in 2009.  Unfortunately, we lost the contact information for his relatives.  His mom's name was Johanne Christensen and she died sometime in the late 1960's or early 1970's in Copenhagen.  I know that he had sisters, named Ruth and Else, and had a nephew Alan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Unfortunately, I don't speak Danish.

Hi Linda
Do you have any more info?
The name of his father?
When he migrated to US?

Welcome to this board Linda ;)

A few more pieces for the puzzle may be helpful.
As said before your grandfather's name, but also his profession when he immigrated.

I found this record on Ancestry:
Boston, Passenger and Crew Lists, 1820-1954 Immigration & Travel
Name:    Aagg Christensen
Birth:    abt 1921 - Aalborg, Denmark
Departure:    Glasgow, Scotland
Arrival:    14 Oct 1942 - Boston, Massachusetts
Residence:    United States of America

Any chance that would be him ? Not being a paying member of Ancestry I'm not able to read the original record.  But someone else maybe ?

Also, there are numerous records on FamilySearch showing a Danish born sailor (boatswain) Aage T. Christensen arriving to NY during WWII.  Married to Margaret in NY.

Hej all,

The 1942 manifest shows that his mother, Johanne Christensen was living at 21 Dr. Tyelgad, Copenhagen and that he had a fiance, Peggy Foley, who was living at 240 Kane St., Brooklyn, NY.

CitatDr. Tyelgad

Would that be Dronningens Tværgade ?

Hej Karsten,

I could be.  I just read the typed address as it appeared on the manifest.
