Hi I would appreciate some help reading parents names.

1813 -1824 Skaarup,Sunds, Svendborg page 18 Line 3 Peder Rasmussen

what are the parents names and what does the cross mean his mothers death?

Thank you George

Ole Westermann

Do you mean opslag 18 nr 3 in 1822 ?
If it is him, under 'anmærkninger' (remarks) is written: død (dead).
So it must be Peter, who is dead. Ops. 93 shows, that he died March 17, 1822.

Parents: Rasmus Hansen and Marie Pedersdatter.

Here is the family in the census 1834:

Svendborg, Sunds, Skaarup, Skaarup Mark, , 18, FT-1834, B3602
Name, age, Marital status, Occupation,
Rasmus Hansen, 57, gift, Gaardmand
Marie Pedersdatter, 47, gift, kone
Hans Rasmussen, 20, søn & tjenestekarl
Johanne Rasmusdatter, 18, datter & tjenestepige
Lisbet Rasmusdatter, 15, datter
Peder Rasmussen, 11, søn

So the first son called Peder died, and a year after, they got another son, and named him Peder too.
He was born/baptized 28. Aug. 1823 opslag 22 Nr. 14.

Is it the right Peder? In the census 1834 there is also a Peder Rasmussen, 12 years old, with parents Rasmus Hansen Jeppesen and Mette Jørgensdatter - opslag 19 Nr. 13 in the Churchbook.

They both live with there parents ind the census 1840

Venlig hilsen Inge

Thank you for your help. I think the Peder Rasmussen I need is  born Jan 31 1819 page 12. This what is written on the 1890 census. The name Rasmussen is too common in this parish, it is hard to keep them in the right family.
Thank you again George.
