The family of my Danish ancestor Petra Hansen

Hello there 

I have been looking into the Hansen side of my family tree and reseached a lot of information regarding Petra Hansen.

I know Petra Hansen was born in Denmark on the 25th September, 1868, but I haven't been able to find out who her father, mother or sisters or brothers were? Or where exactly in Denmark they came from?

What I know is that Petra Hansen married Mads Peder Hansen (they were both born with the surname Hansen) and they lived in Wisconsin and in Portland, Oregon in the U.S.A. where they had three children; Bert Hansen, Paul Hansen and Ingeborg Hansen.

Mads Peter Hansen came to Wisconsin, USA in 1882 with his brothers Peder Hansen and Preben Hansen. Mads was born on the 7th April, 1864 in Denmark.

If anybody can help with information to who Petra's family in Denmark were that'd be wonderful.

Do you know if Mads and Petra was married in Denmark or in America?
Where was the children born?

Mads was born in Ødsted parish, Vejle county, so if the met and was married in Denmark, maybe Petra is also from this area.

I Know this familiy very well and they are hard to get hold of.

However the Child Karen Kirstine is born i Kalvehave:
Kalvehave Sogn - 1848-1859, side 110 # 29 - Lookup 94.

I dont know if some og the children emigrated - but will study them more.

I tried to finde Petra parents dead in Nykøbing between 1892 - 1912 - Unfortunately I didn't find them.
The must be dead after 1890 where i Have them in the Census

I Also have found the probate - but the children is not mentionend by name - just that there is 4 Children

I am sure that Mads was married in the state of Wisconsin in America. I am sure immigrated with his brothers as a single man.
Petra's and Mads' son Paul Bella Hansen was born on the 26th May, 1893, daughter Ingeborg was born in 1897, while son Bert, as mentioned below, was born in 1902. All born in Wisconsin.

I am very sure that must be her, Petra died in 1919 at the age of 50 so the year of 1868 could easily be 1869.

I'm afraid I do not have a death certificate, but I have a burial record that I obtained from the cemetery (Riverview Cemetery in Portland, Oregon). On it it says Petra was born 25th September, 1868 in Denmark and died on the 20th April, 1919, then buried on the 29th April, 1919.

It could be nice af we could find the deatcertificat - i don't know how.

Do you have names of her siblings or stories told through her family?

If she is the we worked on at this site i have lot more information - but i wnat to be sure its the right person so I don't confuse You.

Petra had siblings named: Karen, Niels Peder, Hans Petrus, Christian and Anne - i know there must be two more - but i havent found them yet.

My Petra's Garndfather is bamen Niels - and the Granmother Petra -
it is the mothers parents.

at the fathers site it is Hans Larsen and Karen Nielsen - he was clokmaker (wooden Shoes).

I wil go on investigation - and return if I find new Clues.

Hi Lis,

This is the Hansen burial plot: http://billiongraves.com/pages/record/Petra-Hansen/7126639 There is a mistake on Petra's grave as I think it should read 1869, not 1889. Mads, her husband, is there. Jessica Hansen is her daughter-in-law (Jessica was Jessica Gross). Leone Gross Hansen is Mads' and Petra's grandson and Beverly Lee Hansen is Mads' and Petra's granddaughter.

I have never found Petra's daughter, Ingeborg's grave or burial record - but she married John Patterson Millhollen and lived in california for a long time. Petra's son Paul Billa Hansen was Leone's Beverly's father.
