Help for american who does not know Danish

I am looking for information about my grandfather who was born in Denmark in 1876. I have other information about him which I am am willing to share here. Is that the best way of doing research on this site? Or should I be looking for someone in particular to help me?  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
