Thanks a lot Heidi and Ralph.

This is valuable information which I will also pass to Gerda (we are relatives in fact) as we both were not able to come forward with this family.
Mange tak. Med venlig hilsen
Philipp

Dear all,

I went through the corresponding parish register entries and need some additional help transcribing the godparents for them to better understand the family relationships.

Niels Sörensen (born 1740)
--------------------------

Østbirk, Voer, Skanderborg 1703 - 1750, Scan 64 Nr. 22
http://www.sa.dk/content/dk/ao-forside/find_kirkeboger#

I do read:

Anne Cathrine Marie Sörensdatter (born 1744)

Østbirk, Voer, Skanderborg 1703 - 1750, Scan 71 Nr. 18

I do read:

Laurs Sörensen (born and died 1747)

Østbirk, Voer, Skanderborg 1731 - 1756, Scan 110

I do read:

Maren Sörensdatter (born 1749)
------------------------------
It seems she is registered in two books:

Østbirk, Voer, Skanderborg 1703 - 1750, Scan 81

I do read:
***
Far 2 Pins (Pent?) Sören Hermansens barn i Sattrup kaldet Maren

***

Østbirk, Voer, Skanderborg 1731 - 1756, Scan 117

I do read:
***
2 Pinsdag af Sattrup Sören Hermansens
barn kaldet Maren ---
....
***

Not sure about the date but my guess is 2nd day of Pentecost = 26.05.1749

Jens Sörensen (died 1752)
-------------------------

I could not find the baptism record anywhere in the Ostbirk books, although I would assume he must be born there as the family registered all their children over there although they moved from Vestbirk to Urup to Sattrup which could have to do with the man's job. Any Ideas where else I should look?

Sören Hermansen (died 1786)
---------------------------

I could not find the burial record in either Ostbirk or Hatting (Vejle), same problem as in the old thread referenced above. For the Skifteprotokol I will open a new thread.
Mange tak. Med venlig hilsen
Philipp

Not sure about the date but my guess is 2nd day of Pentecost = 26.05.1749  CORRECT
(and she is also in the other book)

The burial record of Søren Hermandsen is not there, probably forgotten. During this period several burials
are noticed without any name. The records seem to have been done after loose slips. Some have disappeared !

Philipp Post

Dear Ole,

you rendered outstanding services to completing mine and Gerda's ancestors in the last weeks. I will definetely take note of that in the introduction to my genealogical records. Thanks again for the great work!

Regarding the lax parish register entries I saw an entry in a book from Bov/Aabenraa which just said (in German) "Died 'Fiete', an old man born in Jütland". I found that funny and also sympathic if we think at the newer and very sober entries. Although no one will ever be able to trace who that was and it is a pain for the genealogist, it shows that there were quite personal relationships in the villages and other things were more important than the exact date when someone was born etc.

All the best from Hamburg

Mange tak. Med venlig hilsen
Philipp
